Pond project

The project is nearing completion with just a small amount of work to be done in the spring. Asphalting of the road on both sides of the pond and cart paths at 8, 9 and 11/15 will be the first priority. Weather permitting this should all be completed before the end of April. There is some sodding to do along the edges of the asphalted paths and other small areas. There will also be some repair work to irrigation trenches that might have settled. Spring of 2011

Paving of road and cart paths as well as sodding along edges to complete in the spring.

River bank naturalization

The Upper East Don river that runs through our course is part of the Don River system. As stewards of this small piece of the system it is our responsibility to ensure that the golf course has no impact on the river. To further enhance the riverbanks we will be planting more native plant material in certain areas. Where possible trees will be planted to provide shade and therefore reduce water temperatures. This will provide better conditions for fish life. We have started river bank naturalization years ago; this will be just a continuation of the process. Pond Naturalization

Other work includes naturalization of the pond and nursery surrounds. Trees and shrubs will be planted to provide a more natural look to these areas. During the summer the pond will be stocked with fish and duck nesting boxes will placed around the pond. Turtles should migrate back to the pond during the spring. Victor saved a lot of the plant material from the old pond and this will be planted in the early spring when the pond is being filled. We will be looking for volunteers to help us create something special :) To see the scale of the work ahead of us please click HERE

Tee Deck Construction and Yardages

The 2010 construction allowed us to construct new tee decks on several holes. This is just the first step in plans to provide a wider range of tee blocks to play from. We were able to lengthen the course by 83 yards also. In the coming years we will finalize all yardages and when that is done , new monuments for the bronze will be installed on tee decks. New signage will also have to be done to include the 5 sets of colors.
